We are always looking for ways to connect with you, the members of our RSU14 district. This website can be used as the "second front door" to our library.  Please come in and see what we have to offer - and let us know how we can serve you!

The library isn't just a place to check books out anymore.  Sure, we still have them, but today there are so many more things we do.  The following is a list of goals for the school librarian from the American Library Association (ALA):

  • "To ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information...

  • To empower students to be critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, skillful researchers, and ethical users of information...

  • To instill a love of learning in all students and ensure equitable access to information...

  • To collaborate with classroom teachers and specialists to design and implement lessons and units of instruction, and assess student learning and instructional effectiveness...and

  • To provide the leadership and expertise necessary to ensure that the school library program (SLP) is aligned with the mission, goals, and objectives of the school and the school district, and is an integral component of the learning/instructional program."

This is an infographic I created to explain what school librarians do and why they are essential to our schools, staff, students, and community.  Click on any or all of the links to watch videos or read all about what we do!
