Online Citation Tools
When researching on the open web (not subscription database sites), it's important to know how to tell if a website is credible.  Use the ABCD Method for evaluating Internet websites to determine if the site you are looking at is one you should use...or not.

Google Scholar and DuckDuckGo are good search engines to start with for your open web research.  Make sure you use the ABCD Method when evaluating websites!

It's very important to cite any source you use, whether it's from a database or the open web.  Here are some tools you can use for creating your citations.

ERIC

ERIC is a widely searched education database used by millions of researchers, students, faculty, librarians, and others searching for education research. We are continuously working to enhance the collection for our users, and make improvements so the information is more useful and accessible.

Library of Congress

The Library of Congress has made digitized versions of collection materials available online since 1994, concentrating on its most rare collections and those unavailable anywhere else. The following services are your gateway to a growing treasury of digitized photographs, manuscripts, maps, sound recordings, motion pictures, and books, as well as "born digital" materials such as Web sites.

Country Reports

Established in 1997 out of a love for international relations and culture. Entirely online, we offer more than 35,000 pages of content on the countries of the world. Our cultural, historical and statistical information has proven to be valuable to students, parents, teachers, and researchers alike.

National Archives

The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) is the nation's record keeper. Of all documents and materials created in the course of business conducted by the United States Federal government, only 1%-3% are so important for legal or historical reasons that they are kept by us forever.

CQ Researcher

CQ Researcher is noted for its in-depth, unbiased coverage of health, social trends, criminal justice, international affairs, education, the environment, technology and the economy.

Agricola

The National Agricultural Library is one of four national libraries of the United States and houses one of the world's largest collections devoted to agriculture and its related sciences.
