Searching the Open Web

Google Advanced Search and DuckDuckGo are good search engines to use for your open web research for your project.  Make sure you use the ABCD Method when evaluating websites!

Have more control over your Google searches.  You can filter by specific words, phrases, domains, and much more.

Duckduckgo is a search engine that doesn't track your queries.  They will not collect any personal information about you.

WorldWideScience.org is a global science gateway made up of national and international scientific databases and portals.

When researching on the open web (not library database sites), it's important to know how to tell if a website is reliable and credible or not.  Use the ABCD Method for evaluating Internet websites to determine if the site you are looking

at is one you should use...or not.
